Today’s post is written for anyone who has ever worked in an engineering department.

Let’s look at the V model again. This version comes from the Federal Highway Administration, and it has an extra step on each side of the V, as well as wings at the top. Seriously, they call them wings.

Without going too deep, I’d like to point out two other interesting additions. The first is the Time Line along the bottom, showing a progression from left to right: just follow the V and everything will proceed in an orderly fashion, the plan will go smoothly, and those back and forth arrows in the middle will not impact the schedule at all.

You can laugh or you can cry. I suppose it depends on your personal response to trauma.
